Dear reader,
I'm so glad you're here.
Woven began as a recognition of something I observed again and again: whilst there are many wonderful communities for women living abroad, the threads between them were sometimes missing. I found myself collecting stories from women navigating language barriers, cultural shifts, loneliness, love, joy, and identity—and noticing how these experiences connected us across borders and communities.
At some point, I realised we weren't just adjusting to life abroad—we were becoming. And in that becoming, we were creating a tapestry worth mapping, documenting, and sharing.
Why Woven?
Because we serve as the intertwining threads between existing communities, bringing together diverse voices, mapping support networks, and filling critical resource gaps. We don't aim to replace the vibrant communities already serving women abroad—we connect and amplify them.
Woven isn't another expatriate platform, but rather a thoughtfully curated hub that connects you to the stories, resources, and communities you need to thrive abroad.
Here, you’ll find:

With warmth,
Weiwei
